Safety Signage Contractor in Abu Dhabi | Construction, HSE & Workplace Safety Signs

Every construction site, industrial facility, and commercial building in Abu Dhabi needs safety signs. Some are required by law. Others are there to protect workers, visitors, and the public from hazards that are not immediately obvious. Either way, the signs need to be clear, durable, correctly worded in both English and Arabic, and fixed in the right place.

At Point to Point Advertising Designs LLC, we supply and install safety signs from our workshop in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi. We work with construction companies, HSE teams, facilities managers, and main contractors across the UAE. This article explains what we supply, how we work, and what to expect when you place an order with our team.

This post is about our role as a full safety signage contractor — if you are specifically looking for information about emergency assembly point signs, we have a dedicated post on emergency assembly point signs and their requirements in the UAE.

Safety Signs We Supply

Safety signs are grouped by colour and shape, and each combination has a specific meaning. Here is a simple guide to the main categories:

Warning signs have a yellow background with a black triangle and a black symbol. They alert people to a hazard — live cables, high voltage, deep excavation, slippery surfaces, overhead loads, and similar risks. These are among the most common signs on construction and industrial sites.

Prohibition signs are round with a red border and a red diagonal line through a black symbol on a white background. They tell people what they must not do — no smoking, no unauthorised access, no mobile phones, no entry. They are used at site entrances, in hazardous areas, and wherever a specific action needs to be prevented.

Mandatory signs are round with a blue background and a white symbol. They tell people what they must do — wear a hard hat, wear high-visibility clothing, use hearing protection, wash hands. These are required wherever PPE or a specific action is compulsory.

Fire and emergency signs are red (for fire equipment) or green (for escape routes and emergency facilities). Fire signs mark the location of extinguishers, hose reels, and fire alarm call points. Green signs mark fire exits, escape routes, first aid points, and assembly areas.

Assembly point signs are green with white figures and arrows pointing inward. They mark the designated gathering point in the event of an emergency evacuation. We produce these in standard sizes and in reflective sheeting for visibility in low light. See our dedicated post on emergency assembly point signs for more detail on placement and requirements.

Site information boards combine multiple sign types on a single panel — typically a site safety header with danger, prohibition, mandatory, and information messages grouped together. These are used at site entrances and in welfare areas to communicate the key rules of the site at a glance.

Traffic and road works signs include bilingual warning signs for road works, lane closures, speed restrictions, and pedestrian management. We produce these on aluminium with reflective sheeting for use on public roads and within site boundaries.

Bilingual Arabic and English Signs

In Abu Dhabi and across the UAE, safety signs on most sites are required to be bilingual — English and Arabic. This is not just a regulatory expectation; it is a practical necessity on sites where the workforce speaks a range of languages and Arabic is the most widely understood.

We produce all of our standard safety signs in bilingual format as a default. The Arabic text is reviewed by our team before production to make sure it is correct and clearly legible at the intended viewing distance. We do not simply run English text through a translation tool and print it — we check the layout and the script carefully, because a safety sign with an error in the Arabic text is worse than no sign at all.

For clients who need custom text — site-specific rules, company names, emergency contact numbers — we incorporate these into the design before production.

Materials, Finishes and Outdoor Durability in UAE Heat

The UAE climate is hard on signage. Temperatures regularly exceed 45°C in summer, UV exposure is intense year-round, and dust and humidity add to the wear on outdoor materials. We choose materials that are appropriate for the environment where the sign will be used.

Aluminium composite panel (ACP) is our standard material for most site safety signs. It is lightweight, rigid, and holds up well outdoors. The printed surface is laminated for UV and scratch resistance.

Aluminium sheet is used where a heavier, more durable substrate is needed — for signs that will be fixed permanently to structures, or for reflective road works signs where the substrate needs to support the reflective sheeting without flexing.

Reflective sheeting is applied to signs that need to be visible at night or in low-light conditions — assembly point signs, road works signs, and emergency exit signs in areas without reliable lighting. We use engineer-grade and high-intensity reflective materials depending on the application.

PVC and foam board are used for temporary indoor signs, short-term site notices, and situations where a lightweight, low-cost option is appropriate. These are not suitable for permanent outdoor use in the UAE climate.

Freestanding stands and posts — we fabricate wooden A-frame stands and steel posts for signs that need to be freestanding and repositionable on site. These are commonly used for temporary hazard warnings, road works, and areas where drilling into a surface is not possible.

Site Safety Boards and Project HSE Packages

For construction projects, we can supply a complete HSE signage package — everything from the project identification board at the site entrance to the individual warning signs at each work area. This includes:

  • Site entrance safety boards with the project's specific rules and emergency information
  • Hazard warning signs for each work zone
  • Mandatory PPE signs at access points
  • Fire and emergency signs throughout the site
  • Assembly point signs at the designated muster stations
  • Traffic management signs for vehicle and pedestrian routes

We work with HSE managers and site teams to identify what is needed, prepare a sign schedule, and supply the full package in one delivery. For larger projects, we can phase the supply to match the construction programme. For more detail on how we work as a signage subcontractor on construction and fit-out projects, see our post on project signage contracting in Abu Dhabi.

Supply and Install with Our Own Team

We do not just supply signs — we install them. Our installation team works on active construction sites, industrial facilities, and commercial buildings across Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

We follow site HSE rules as a matter of course. Our team holds the inductions and permits to work required to operate on most sites in Abu Dhabi, and we coordinate with the main contractor's site team on access, sequencing, and safe working methods. We bring our own tools and equipment, and we do not create extra work for the site team.

For facilities that are already occupied — offices, hospitals, hotels, industrial plants — we can carry out installation work outside normal working hours to minimise disruption.

After installation, we provide a record of what was installed and where, which is useful for facilities management teams and for future maintenance or replacement.

Fast Turnaround from Our Musaffah Factory

One of the practical advantages of working with a local factory is the ability to respond quickly when something is needed urgently. Safety signs are often required at short notice — a new hazard is identified, a site audit flags a gap, or a project is accelerating and the signage needs to keep up.

Because we manufacture in our own workshop in Musaffah, we can turn around standard safety signs quickly without the delays that come with ordering from overseas or through a supplier who does not control their own production. For urgent requirements, contact us directly and we will tell you honestly what we can deliver and when.

Our workshop is in Musaffah 39, and our office is in Musaffah 36. We are well placed to serve construction sites and industrial facilities across Abu Dhabi, ICAD, KEZAD, and the wider emirate. We also supply and install across Dubai, Al Ain, and the rest of the UAE.
